Old wives tale, or destiny. It was here in Puerto Ordaz that Bruce met our mother, Helena Del Valle Fernandez. He was her boss and spoke very little if any spanish. Their first date was an Italian dinner and the local hotel and that would be the routine for over 8 months of courting. At one point, Bruce left to the U.S. and promised to return, but after a few weeks, mom gave up hope. Then one day, sitting in a cafe, in he walked and set across the room watching her.
